Bengaluru : India’s state-owned engineering and manufacturing major Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced the appointment of Aruna Gulati as General Manager and Head of its Solar Business Division (SBD) in Bengaluru, reinforcing the company’s strategic push into renewable energy.
The appointment, effective April 25, 2026, is part of BHEL’s broader effort to strengthen its leadership in solar power and expand its footprint in India’s rapidly growing clean energy sector.
Leadership Role in a Strategic Growth Area
In her new role, Gulati will report to the Director (Industry Sector & Power) and will be responsible for driving growth, innovation, and execution across BHEL’s solar initiatives. Her mandate includes scaling up project delivery, enhancing technological capabilities, and strengthening the company’s position in the renewable energy market.
The Solar Business Division plays a key role in BHEL’s diversification strategy as the company transitions from conventional power equipment manufacturing to a more balanced energy portfolio that includes sustainable solutions.
Over Three Decades of Experience
An accomplished engineer, Gulati holds B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in Electrical Engineering and has been associated with BHEL since joining the organization on October 21, 1991.
With more than 30 years of experience across multiple functions within the company, she brings deep domain expertise in power systems, project execution, and engineering management. Her long tenure and leadership experience have been instrumental in shaping various operational and strategic initiatives within BHEL.
