Public Enterprises Selection Board Invites Applications for Director (Technical) Role at Madras Fertilizers Limited


New Delhi : The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has issued an official notification inviting applications for the position of Director (Technical) at Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL), a Schedule ‘B’ Central Public Sector Enterprise operating under the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

Madras Fertilizers Limited was established in 1966 as a joint venture between the Government of India and Amoco India Inc., a subsidiary of the Standard Oil Company. The company is headquartered in Manali, Tamil Nadu, and plays a key role in India’s fertilizer sector.

Role and Responsibilities

The Director (Technical) will serve as a member of the Board of Directors and report directly to the Chairman and Managing Director.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Technical and Operations Division
  • Ensuring efficient and safe plant operations
  • Optimizing resource utilization
  • Acting as the principal advisor on technical and operational matters

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants must be engineering graduates—preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering—from a recognized university with a strong academic record.

Experience

Candidates should have:

  • At least three years of technical or operational experience in the past ten years
  • Experience in the fertilizer, chemical, or petrochemical sectors
  • Exposure to senior management roles in large organizations

Age Limit

The age criteria will be determined in accordance with PESB guidelines as of the vacancy date (February 20, 2026).


Pay Scale and Tenure

The position carries a pay scale of ₹160,000 to ₹290,000 (IDA pattern).

The appointment will be for:

  • An initial tenure of five years, or
  • Until superannuation, or
  • Until further orders, whichever is earlier
