Bilaspur, India In a major boost to community healthcare services, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) inaugurated the “Maa Sarada Charitable Dispensary” at Ramakrishna Mission in Bilaspur under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The facility was formally opened by SECL’s Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Harish Duhan, reinforcing the company’s commitment to inclusive and accessible healthcare.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Duhan emphasized that SECL’s CSR initiatives go beyond infrastructure development and aim to deliver essential services to every section of society. Highlighting healthcare as a priority area, he noted that such projects play a critical role in improving both access to medical services and the overall quality of life in surrounding communities.
The charitable dispensary has been established with SECL’s financial support of approximately ₹6.196 million (₹61.96 lakh) and developed by the Ramakrishna Mission. It is specifically designed to cater to economically disadvantaged populations, ensuring that quality healthcare is both affordable and accessible.
The facility is equipped with a wide range of medical services, including dental care, general medicine and consultations, pediatrics, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and physiotherapy. In addition, basic diagnostic and treatment services will be available on-site. Regular outpatient department (OPD) services will be conducted by qualified medical professionals, providing consistent and reliable care to patients.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior SECL officials, representatives of the Ramakrishna Mission, and members of the local community, reflecting strong collaborative efforts between the public sector and social organizations.
This initiative is expected to benefit thousands of residents in Bilaspur and nearby regions by offering cost-effective, high-quality healthcare services. It stands as a notable example of SECL’s dedication to social responsibility and its proactive role in strengthening community welfare through sustainable CSR initiatives.
