Bengaluru : Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) recently hosted a delegation of 28 foreign defense journalists from 25 countries at its Bengaluru Complex, offering a first-hand look at India’s growing capabilities in defense electronics and advanced manufacturing.
The visit was organized as part of a familiarization tour under the media outreach and public diplomacy program of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India. The initiative aims to strengthen international understanding of India’s indigenous defense technology ecosystem.
High-Level Interaction and Facility Tour
The delegation, accompanied by MEA officials, was received at BEL’s Management Block by senior company leadership. Commander K. Kumar (Retd.), Executive Director – Naval Systems (S&CS), addressed the gathering and presented an overview of BEL’s strategic role in supporting India’s defense preparedness through indigenous electronics solutions. Senior executives from Missile & Radar (MR) and Military Communications (MilCom) divisions were also present during the interaction.
Journalists were taken on a guided tour of BEL’s production and integration facilities, where they were briefed on a range of cutting-edge systems, including:
- Military radar systems
- Tactical and strategic communication networks
- Coastal surveillance radar systems
- Advanced precision manufacturing and assembly lines
The visit offered an in-depth perspective on India’s progress toward self-reliance in high-end defense technologies.

The engagement concluded with an interactive lunch session, encouraging open discussions on defense innovation, technology transfer, and India’s expanding role in the global defense landscape.
Officials highlighted that the outreach program reflects the broader objectives of the Government of India to promote transparency, enhance defense diplomacy, and showcase the country’s technological advancements to an international audience.
