CGPSC Prelims Exam 2026: Strict Dress Code and Timely Reporting Mandatory


Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) will conduct the State Service (Preliminary) Examination 2025 on Sunday, February 22, 2026. All preparations for the examination have been completed, and candidates have been advised to strictly follow the prescribed guidelines, including dress code and reporting time.

Exam Centers Across 33 Districts

The CGPSC Prelims will be held at designated examination centers across 33 districts of Chhattisgarh, including Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Bastar (Jagdalpur), Rajnandgaon, Korba, Raigarh, Jashpur, Dantewada, Sukma, Bijapur, Ambikapur, Janjgir-Champa, Balod, Bemetara, Kanker, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Gariaband, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Surajpur, and several others.

Exam Date and Schedule

  • Date: February 22, 2026
  • Day: Sunday
  • First Session: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (General Studies)
  • Second Session: 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Aptitude Test)

The preliminary examination will be conducted in two shifts. Candidates must reach the examination center well before the reporting time to complete entry verification and frisking procedures. Late entry will not be permitted under any circumstances.

Strict Guidelines for Candidates

The Commission has issued detailed instructions for examinees:

  • Carry a printed admit card and a valid photo ID (Aadhaar card preferred).
  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and all electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination center.
  • Thorough frisking will be conducted at entry points.
  • A strict dress code is enforced—only light-colored, half-sleeve clothing is allowed. Dark-colored outfits and accessories are prohibited.
  • Candidates must maintain discipline and follow all instructions issued by the invigilators.

Total Vacancies and Major Posts

A total of 238 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment process. Key positions include:

  • Deputy Collector – 14 posts
  • Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) – 28 posts
  • Naib Tehsildar – 51 posts
  • Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) – 29 posts (reintroduced after 4 years)
  • Commercial Tax Officer
  • District Excise Officer
  • Assistant Director
  • District Registrar
  • State Finance Service Officer
  • District Women and Child Development Officer

Admit Card Details

The CGPSC released the admit cards on February 10, 2026. Candidates can download them from the official website www.psc.cg.gov.in. The Commission has clarified that no admit cards have been sent individually to candidates.

Candidates are advised to carefully read all instructions mentioned on the admit card and ensure full compliance to avoid disqualification on the examination day.
