Expert Highlights Prevention, Early Detection and Healthy Lifestyle for Better Heart Health
Bilaspur : South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) organised a heart health awareness webinar at its headquarters in Bilaspur on Tuesday to mark World Heart Day.
The programme was organised by SECL’s Medical Department at the CMD Conference Hall, with a focus on raising awareness about the prevention and early detection of cardiovascular diseases.
SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Harish Duhan, Chief Vigilance Officer Himanshu Jain and Director (Technical–Operations) Ramesh Chandra Mahapatra attended the programme.
Heads of departments, officers and employees from the headquarters, along with doctors from different SECL areas, also participated. Dr Shrutidev Mishra, Chief Medical Services Officer, was present at the event.
Expert Session on Prevention and Early Detection
The key technical session on “Prevention and Early Detection of Heart Diseases” was delivered by Dr P. C. Rath of Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
Dr Rath explained the major risk factors associated with heart disease and discussed symptoms that may appear in the early stages. He stressed the importance of timely health screening and seeking medical advice when warning signs appear.
He also highlighted the role of lifestyle choices in maintaining cardiovascular health, particularly:
- A balanced and nutritious diet
- Regular physical activity
- Effective stress management
- Timely health check-ups
- Early medical consultation when symptoms arise
The session provided employees and medical professionals with practical information on recognising potential cardiovascular risks and taking preventive measures.
Doctors and Employees Join Online
Doctors and employees from different SECL operational areas also participated in the webinar through online mode, enabling wider participation across the company’s establishments.
The programme was conducted by Dr A. S. Jain.
The initiative was part of SECL’s employee health and awareness activities and aimed to encourage greater attention towards heart health, preventive care and early detection of cardiovascular conditions.
