Cumulative iron ore production reaches 23.23 MT through August, up from 18.45 MT a year earlier
New Delhi : NMDC Limited reported provisional iron ore production of 4.07 million tonnes (MT) and sales of 3.58 MT in August 2026, according to a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges.
The company’s August production increased significantly from 3.37 MT recorded in August 2025, while iron ore sales rose from 3.39 MT in the corresponding month of the previous year.
NMDC August 2026 Production and Sales
NMDC produced 4.07 MT of iron ore in August 2026, marking an increase of around 20.8% compared with 3.37 MT in August 2025.
Iron ore sales during the month stood at 3.58 MT, compared with 3.39 MT in August 2025, representing growth of approximately 5.6%.
Chhattisgarh and Karnataka Operations
Chhattisgarh remained the larger contributor to NMDC’s iron ore output during August 2026. Production from the state stood at 2.64 MT, compared with 2.21 MT in August 2025.
Sales from Chhattisgarh operations increased to 2.51 MT, from 2.28 MT in the year-ago period.
In Karnataka, NMDC’s iron ore production increased to 1.43 MT in August 2026, compared with 1.16 MT in August 2025. However, sales declined marginally to 1.07 MT, from 1.11 MT during the corresponding month last year.
Cumulative Production Rises Sharply
For the period through August 2026, NMDC’s cumulative iron ore production reached 23.23 MT, compared with 18.45 MT during the corresponding period of 2025.
This represents an increase of approximately 25.9% year-on-year.
Cumulative sales stood at 18.72 MT through August 2026, compared with 18.37 MT during the same period of the previous year.

The cumulative figures show a substantial increase in production from Chhattisgarh operations, while Karnataka’s cumulative sales remained below the level recorded during the corresponding period of 2025.
Figures Disclosed Under SEBI Regulations
NMDC clarified that the production and sales figures for August 2026 are provisional.
The disclosure was made pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
With cumulative production crossing 23 MT in the first five months of the financial year, NMDC’s latest operational data indicates a strong increase in iron ore output compared with the previous year, while cumulative sales remained broadly stable.
