CGM Sanchay Kumar Sinha retires after completing his term; bank says arrangements are in place to ensure continuity

MUMBAI : South Indian Bank has announced a change in its senior management following the retirement of Sanchay Kumar Sinha, Chief General Manager (CGM) and Head – Unsecured Assets and Wealth Management, effective August 31, 2026.

According to the bank’s regulatory disclosure, Sinha retired after the closure of office hours on August 31, 2026, following the completion of his term of appointment.

His last working day with the bank was August 31, 2026, in accordance with the terms and conditions of his employment.

Sanchay Kumar Sinha Retires After Completion of Tenure

Sanchay Kumar Sinha was serving as CGM and Head of Unsecured Assets and Wealth Management, a senior management position within South Indian Bank.

The bank said his retirement followed the completion of his appointed term.

With his retirement, Sinha ceased to hold the responsibilities associated with the position from the effective date.

Bank Says Management Continuity Will Be Maintained

South Indian Bank said it is well-positioned to ensure continuity in managing the requirements of the role following Sinha’s retirement.

The regulatory filing did not disclose the appointment of a successor to the position.

The bank’s statement indicates that the retirement is being managed as part of its normal senior-management transition process, with arrangements expected to ensure that the relevant business functions continue without disruption.

Disclosure Under SEBI Regulations

The development was disclosed by South Indian Bank under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The regulation requires listed entities to disclose material events and developments, including certain changes involving senior management personnel.

The bank’s filing formally recorded Sinha’s retirement and the cessation of his role following the completion of his tenure.

Role Covered Unsecured Assets and Wealth Management

As CGM and Head – Unsecured Assets and Wealth Management, Sinha was responsible for functions covering important areas of the bank’s business.

Unsecured lending generally refers to loans that are not backed by specific collateral, while wealth management involves services and financial solutions for customers with investment and financial planning requirements.

The two areas form part of the broader retail and financial-services operations of a modern banking institution.

No Successor Announced

While the bank confirmed Sinha’s retirement, the regulatory disclosure did not name a successor for the position.

South Indian Bank, however, stated that it is adequately positioned to manage the requirements of the role and maintain continuity following the senior management change.

Further details regarding any future appointment or restructuring of responsibilities may be announced separately by the bank, if required.
