B.Sc. Agriculture First-Year Fundamental of Genetics examination held on August 19 has been cancelled following reports of a possible question paper leak.
Raipur : Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) has cancelled the B.Sc. Agriculture First-Year Fundamental of Genetics examination that was conducted on August 19, 2026. The university management has issued an official order cancelling the examination following reports regarding the alleged leakage of the question paper.
The fresh examination is expected to be conducted during the second week of September 2026. Students have been advised to regularly check official university notifications and remain in contact with their respective colleges or the concerned Dean’s office for the revised examination schedule.
University Cancels Fundamental of Genetics Examination
According to IGKV Public Relations Officer Sanjay Nair, the university management has decided to cancel the Fundamental of Genetics examination conducted on August 19.
He said that the examination will now be conducted again in the second week of September. Students have been advised to follow official university communications for details regarding the new examination date and other arrangements.
The decision comes after the university reportedly received information through media reports on August 26 regarding the alleged leakage of the question paper. Following the reports, the university management had also written to the concerned police station requesting an investigation into the matter.

According to the information provided by the university and police authorities, FIRs had already been registered at Telibandha Police Station in connection with alleged paper leaks involving examinations conducted on August 7 and August 20.
The police had earlier arrested six accused persons on August 22, including a professor associated with an agriculture college in Durg, in connection with the investigation.

Telibandha Police Station in-charge Ajay Jha said that, officially, only two paper-leak cases had so far been registered at the police station. However, after receiving the university’s letter requesting an investigation into the Fundamental of Genetics paper, the police have begun examining the matter and attempting to establish possible links with the earlier cases.
Investigators are expected to examine how the question paper may have been accessed, whether there was any unauthorized circulation before the examination and whether the latest case is connected to the previously registered paper-leak cases.
