Industry-academia partnership to focus on curriculum development, internships, technology sessions, campus hiring and innovation-driven learning
Chennai: Sathyabama University has strengthened its collaboration with NIQ, a global technology and consumer intelligence company, through a high-impact engagement aimed at developing future-ready technology talent.
The connect session brought together NIQ’s senior leadership, faculty members and more than 1,200 students from Computer Science, Information Technology and Electrical Engineering disciplines.
The event was presided over by Vice President Maria Catherine Johnson and attended by Brian Parchem, CIO and Senior Vice President, Enterprise Information Technology (EIT); Arun Sasindran, India EIT Leader; Stephen Rosario, India Tech Talent Acquisition Lead; Ayesha Anjum, India EC Lead, along with other members of the NIQ HR team and Sathyabama University.
Student Innovation Showcase Highlights Industry-Focused Solutions
A major highlight of the event was the Student Innovation Showcase, where the top five student teams presented solutions addressing real-world technology challenges.
The projects covered topics including:
- The Lockout
- The Ticket Storm
- The Cloud Bill
- Responsible AI
- The Future Workplace
Students demonstrated their problem-solving abilities by using artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to develop innovative solutions for complex industry scenarios.
Following evaluations by NIQ leaders, the top three teams were recognized with prizes and certificates for their outstanding contributions.
Sathyabama University and NIQ Sign MoU
The engagement also marked an important milestone with the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NIQ and Sathyabama University.
The partnership will focus on strengthening industry-academia collaboration through initiatives such as:

- Technology subject-matter expert sessions

NIQ Launches Campus Hiring Programme
As part of the engagement, NIQ also launched its campus hiring programme at Sathyabama University through a pre-placement session.
NIQ leaders provided students with insights into the company’s global technology ecosystem, digital transformation initiatives, career opportunities and collaborative work culture.
Delivering the keynote address, Brian Parchem highlighted NIQ’s investments in technology, its global platforms and innovation-driven environment, while discussing opportunities available to emerging technology professionals.

NIQ plans to begin its campus hiring activities in the coming weeks and continue working with Sathyabama University to develop skilled, industry-ready professionals.
