‘Toxic’ Advance Booking: Yash’s Film Sells Over 12 Lakh Tickets, Eyes ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Record

‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ has generated massive buzz ahead of its August 26 release, with advance bookings crossing ₹50 crore including blocked seats.

Hyderabad : Yash-starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ is creating a strong buzz ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on August 26. The action-packed gangster drama has recorded an impressive response in advance bookings, with more than 12 lakh tickets reportedly sold before release.

The film is expected to begin screenings as early as 6:00 AM at several locations. While Yash’s home state Karnataka remains one of the strongest markets, the movie is also witnessing significant interest in Hindi-speaking regions.

‘Toxic’ Advance Booking Crosses ₹50 Crore

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, as of 7 PM on August 25, Toxic had sold more than 12 lakh tickets across around 24,094 shows.

The film’s reported advance gross from sold tickets stood at approximately ₹41.25 crore, while the figure including blocked seats was around ₹54.41 crore.

The strong pre-release performance has positioned Toxic as one of the most closely watched films at the box office.

Hindi Version Leads Kannada in Advance Bookings

The advance booking numbers show particularly strong competition between the film’s Hindi and Kannada versions.

  • Hindi 2D: Around ₹20 crore
  • Kannada 2D: Around ₹14.9 crore
  • Kannada IMAX 2D: More than ₹78 lakh
  • Hindi IMAX 2D: More than ₹45 lakh

The performance of the Hindi version is especially significant because it indicates that the film is attracting audiences beyond Karnataka.

Can ‘Toxic’ Beat ‘Dhurandhar 2’?

The rapid pace of ticket sales has raised the possibility of Toxic surpassing the advance-booking record of ‘Dhurandhar 2’.

According to Sacnilk data cited in the report, Dhurandhar 2 had sold approximately 14,07,553 tickets across 23,364 shows, generating around ₹52.35 crore in advance bookings for its opening day.

Including blocked seats, the figure was estimated at approximately ₹62.43 crore.

With Toxic still having time before its release, its final pre-release booking figures could potentially move closer to or even cross that benchmark.

Yash Returns to the Big Screen After Four Years

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups marks Yash’s major return to the big screen after a four-year gap.

The film features a large ensemble cast, including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth.

Presented as an action-oriented gangster drama, the film has generated considerable anticipation because of Yash’s popularity following the KGF franchise.
