Tanker collides with auto-rickshaw carrying 11 women in Zaheerabad; two more killed after car crosses divider and hits oncoming vehicles
Hyderabad : At least seven people were killed in two separate road accidents in Telangana’s Sangareddy district on Tuesday, with five of the victims identified as agricultural labourers from neighbouring Karnataka.
Five Killed After Tanker Hits Auto-Rickshaw
The first accident occurred on Tuesday evening within the limits of Chiragpalli Police Station in Zaheerabad mandal.
According to police, a tanker collided with an auto-rickshaw carrying 11 women, all of whom were agricultural labourers from Bidar district in Karnataka.
A police official said five people, including four women and the auto-rickshaw driver, died in the crash, while seven others sustained injuries.
The victims were reportedly returning home to Karnataka after completing their day’s work.
The injured workers were shifted to hospitals in Zaheerabad and Sangareddy for treatment. Police have begun an investigation into the circumstances that led to the collision.
Car Crosses Divider, Two Killed
The second fatal accident took place near Venkatapur Junction in Kohir mandal of Sangareddy district.
Police said a car went out of control, crossed the road divider and collided with vehicles travelling in the opposite direction.
The crash damaged four vehicles and resulted in the deaths of two people, both of whom were residents of Telangana.
Investigation Underway
The two accidents together claimed seven lives and left several people injured.
Police are investigating both incidents to determine the exact circumstances and establish whether factors such as speed, driver error or road conditions contributed to the crashes.
