Delhivery Rejigs Top Leadership: Vani Venkatesh Elevated as Deputy CEO, Ajith Pai to Exit

New Delhi : Logistics company Delhivery Limited has announced a major change in its senior leadership, elevating Chief Business Officer (CBO) and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) Vani Venkatesh to the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO) with immediate effect.

At the same time, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and KMP Ajith Pai, a founding member of Delhivery, will leave the company at the close of business on September 15, 2026, to pursue opportunities independently.

Vani Venkatesh Elevated to Deputy CEO

Vani Venkatesh joined Delhivery in February 2025 as CBO and KMP, where she was responsible for the company’s revenue functions.

In her new role as Deputy CEO, Venkatesh will oversee revenue, marketing and customer experience, while also working closely with Delhivery’s operations teams. She will continue to serve as KMP.

Venkatesh brings more than 20 years of professional experience across leading organizations including Airtel, McKinsey, Unilever and Abbott Nutrition.

During her tenure at Airtel, she held several senior leadership positions, including CEO of Global Business, CEO of the Delhi-NCR region, Chief Marketing Officer and CEO of the retail business.

She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from IIM Bangalore and is also a qualified Chartered Accountant, Cost and Works Accountant and Company Secretary.

Ajith Pai to Leave Delhivery

Ajith Pai, one of Delhivery’s founding members, will step down from his role as COO on September 15, 2026.

Pai has played a significant role in the company’s growth, having previously served as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) before becoming COO. Delhivery said his responsibilities have now been transitioned to the company’s newly appointed executive operations leadership.

Delhivery Managing Director and CEO Sahil Barua acknowledged Pai’s contribution to the company, describing him as a founding member who has made valuable contributions since Delhivery’s early days.

Continued Leadership Restructuring

The latest changes are part of a broader leadership restructuring at Delhivery.

Earlier this year, the company appointed Varun Bakshi as Chief Sales Officer, Vikas Kapoor as Chief Strategy Officer, Arun Bagavathi, Prashant Gazipur and Nikhil Ummat as COOs, and Sunny Raja as Chief Procurement Officer.

The company has also witnessed changes at the board and senior management level over the past year. In November 2025, CFO Amit Agarwal stepped down and was succeeded by Vivek Pabari, while independent director Aruna Sundararajan resigned from the board.

In April 2026, Chairman Deepak Kapoor and independent director Saugata Gupta stepped down as part of a board refresh.

Q1 Profit Declines 65%

The leadership changes were announced alongside Delhivery’s financial results for the June 2026 quarter.

The company reported a 65% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit, which fell to ₹31.91 crore. However, revenue from operations increased 27.8% year-on-year to ₹2,930.73 crore.

Total expenses rose 29.4% to ₹3,011.60 crore during the quarter. Freight, handling and servicing costs increased 31.4% to ₹2,152.16 crore, while employee-benefit expenses rose 21.6% to ₹428.96 crore.

The quarterly numbers include the financial performance of Ecom Express, which became a Delhivery subsidiary in July 2025 and a wholly owned subsidiary in December 2025, affecting year-on-year comparisons.

Sahil Barua Reappointed as MD & CEO

Delhivery’s Board has also approved the reappointment of Sahil Barua as Managing Director and CEO for another five-year term, subject to shareholder approval.

The Board has additionally approved the reappointment of Kapil Bharati as Whole-time Director, Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer for five years, also subject to shareholder approval.

The latest leadership changes mark another significant step in Delhivery’s ongoing effort to strengthen its executive structure as the company expands its logistics operations and integrates its growing business portfolio.
