President Appoints 30 New Judges and Additional Judges to Four High Courts

New Delhi : The President of India has appointed 30 Advocates and Judicial Officers as Judges and Additional Judges to the Madras, Calcutta, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh High Courts. The appointments were made in consultation with the Chief Justice of India and announced by the Ministry of Law and Justice on August 8, 2026.

Appointments Under the Constitution

The appointments have been made under the constitutional powers governing the appointment of High Court judges. The latest appointments are expected to strengthen the judicial capacity of the four High Courts and help address the continuing need for adequate judicial strength.
