Experienced Railway Officers Posted at Vadodara and Surat for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor
New Delhi : The Railway Board has approved the deputation of three experienced officers from the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) to the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) for key project management responsibilities on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) Corridor, popularly known as the Bullet Train project.
The three officers have been appointed as Chief Project Managers (CPMs) and will oversee project-related activities at important locations along the high-speed rail corridor.

Shri Sudhir Kumar Gupta (IRSE)

Terms of Deputation
Under the approved arrangement, all three officers will continue to receive their regular Railway pay, along with the applicable deputation (duty) allowance.
Their deputation will be for a period of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The deputation is also subject to the government’s approval for exemption from the rule requiring immediate absorption in NHSRCL.
Other applicable terms and conditions, including provisions related to medical facilities, leave, retirement benefits, and traveling allowance, will be governed by the relevant Railway Board rules.
Strategic Importance of Vadodara and Surat
The postings are significant because Vadodara and Surat are important locations along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor.
The deployment of experienced IRSE officers with expertise in civil engineering and railway infrastructure is expected to strengthen project coordination, supervision, and execution of major civil and infrastructure works along these sections.
The appointment of senior Railway officers also reflects NHSRCL’s continued efforts to strengthen its project management teams by utilizing experienced personnel with expertise in large-scale railway construction and infrastructure development.
