Nidhi Choudhari Re-designated as Director at NGMA; Akshay Tripathi Appointed Private Secretary to Tribal Affairs Minister
New Delhi : The Competent Authority has approved two key personnel decisions involving the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, including the re-designation of an IAS officer as Director at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) and the appointment of another IAS officer as Private Secretary to the Minister for Tribal Affairs.
Nidhi Choudhari Re-designated as Director at NGMA
The Competent Authority has approved the proposal to re-designate the post of Deputy Secretary currently held by Ms. Nidhi Choudhari, IAS (MH:2012), as Director at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) under the Ministry of Culture.
The re-designation will be personal to the officer and will take effect from the date she assumes charge of the re-designated post.
According to the approved arrangement, Ms. Choudhari will hold the position until August 20, 2029, which represents a total admissible tenure of five years under the Central Staffing Scheme.
The move is expected to provide continuity in the administrative and institutional functioning of the National Gallery of Modern Art, one of India’s key institutions dedicated to modern and contemporary art.
Akshay Tripathi Appointed Private Secretary to Tribal Affairs Minister
In another significant appointment, the Competent Authority has approved the appointment of Shri Akshay Tripathi, IAS (UP:2014), as Private Secretary to the Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram.
Tripathi will serve in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs at the level of Deputy Secretary.
The appointment will be for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge, subject to applicable conditions.
However, the appointment will also be co-terminus with the tenure of the Minister, or will continue until the officer ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever occurs earliest.
Administrative Changes in Key Ministries
The two decisions come as part of the government’s ongoing administrative arrangements under the Central Staffing Scheme. The appointments place experienced IAS officers in important positions associated with the cultural administration and tribal affairs portfolios.
While Ms. Choudhari’s re-designation strengthens the leadership structure at NGMA, Mr. Tripathi’s appointment will place him in a key coordination role supporting the Minister for Tribal Affairs in the functioning of the ministry.
