Dhamtari, India: A disturbing incident has raised serious concerns about school security in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district, where a man allegedly trespassed into a government primary school and violently assaulted a third-grade student.
The incident occurred on Monday at a government primary school in Bhanpuri village under the jurisdiction of Arjuni Police Station. According to reports, the school was on its lunch break when several students went to use the restroom. At that time, the accused reportedly climbed over the school’s boundary wall carrying a wooden stick and attacked a young child standing near the toilet area.
The child sustained multiple injuries and was left traumatized by the assault. He was later taken to a hospital for treatment and is currently undergoing medical care. Visible injury marks were found on several parts of his body.
After returning home, the child informed his father about the attack. The victim’s father, identified as Chetan Nirmalkar, first sought medical attention for his son and then filed a formal complaint with the police.
The father stated that the accused is known in the area and is allegedly mentally unstable. He further claimed that the same individual has been involved in similar incidents in the past and had previously been detained by the police, only to be released after a brief period.
The incident has sparked outrage among parents and local residents, who are questioning the safety measures in place at the school. The victim’s family has demanded strict action against the accused, warning that his repeated behavior poses a serious threat to children and the community at large.
Responding to the complaint, Arjuni Police Station in-charge Rajesh Jagat confirmed that the case has been registered and an investigation is currently underway.
Authorities are now examining how the intruder gained access to the school premises and whether additional security arrangements are required to prevent such incidents in the future.
