‘Apni Chaukhat Apna Kachra’ campaign highlights individual responsibility, while Safai Mitras receive health support and schoolchildren join cleanliness walkathon
Bilaspur : South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) organised a street play on the theme “Apni Chaukhat Apna Kachra” at its headquarters in Bilaspur on Tuesday as part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 and Special Campaign 6.
The street play focused on the importance of keeping homes, workplaces and surrounding areas clean. Through an engaging public performance, the message was conveyed that cleanliness begins with individual responsibility and requires the participation of every member of society.
The presentation urged people to dispose of waste only at designated places instead of littering public spaces. It also highlighted the need to make cleanliness a regular part of everyday life rather than treating it as an occasional activity.
Health Camp for Safai Mitras
As part of the campaign, SECL also organised a free health check-up camp for Safai Mitras at the Pink Dispensary in Vasant Vihar.
Sanitation workers underwent health examinations and received medical advice from doctors. The initiative was aimed at supporting the health and well-being of sanitation workers and creating greater awareness about their health and safety.
SECL highlighted the contribution of Safai Mitras, whose work plays an important role in maintaining cleanliness across workplaces and residential areas.
Schoolchildren Join Cleanliness Walkathon
A cleanliness awareness walkathon was also organised at DAV Public School, SECL Vasant Vihar, Bilaspur.
Schoolchildren participated enthusiastically in the activity and helped spread the message of cleanliness and environmental responsibility. Their participation added a strong community and youth engagement component to SECL’s ongoing cleanliness campaign.
Swachhata Hi Seva and Special Campaign 6
Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 is being observed from September 17 to October 2, 2026, while the main implementation phase of Special Campaign 6 will continue from October 2 to October 31, 2026.
Through the street play, health camp and school cleanliness walkathon, SECL focused on three important aspects of the campaign—cleanliness, the health and safety of Safai Mitras, and participation of children and the wider community.
The activities underline SECL’s efforts to promote cleanliness as a shared responsibility and encourage people to adopt cleaner practices in their daily lives.
