Central Government extends his tenure beyond October 8, 2026, until superannuation or further orders
Mumbai : Indian Bank has informed the stock exchanges that the Central Government has extended the tenure of Shiv Bajrang Singh as Executive Director of the bank beyond his existing term, which was scheduled to end on October 8, 2026.
Under the extension, Singh will continue to serve as Executive Director until his date of superannuation on February 28, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The extension was granted through a Central Government notification dated September 23, 2026, bearing Notification No. eF.No.4/1/(iv)/2025-BO.I. The order has been issued under the provisions of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970 and the Nationalised Banks (Management and Miscellaneous Provisions) Scheme, 1970.
Extension follows Central Government order
According to the bank’s regulatory disclosure, the extension formally continues Singh’s tenure as Executive Director after the expiry of his previously notified term on October 8.
The revised tenure will remain effective until February 28, 2027, corresponding with his scheduled superannuation, unless the Central Government issues further orders before that date.

Indian Bank also confirmed that Shiv Bajrang Singh is not related to any of the other directors of the bank.
The bank further stated that Singh has not been debarred from holding the office of director by any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other regulatory authority.
