Financial assistance helps beneficiary meet essential healthcare and nutritional needs during motherhood
Mungeli : The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is providing financial support to eligible women and helping families meet essential health and nutritional needs during pregnancy and motherhood.
One such beneficiary is Jaishree Bhaskar, a resident of Ramgarh village in Mungeli district, who received ₹6,000 in financial assistance under the scheme.
The assistance helped Jaishree manage some of the essential expenses associated with motherhood. She used the financial support for her own nutritional needs, healthcare and the care of her child.
Financial Support Brings Relief to Family
The financial assistance provided through PMMVY helped reduce some of the financial pressure on Jaishree’s family during the period following childbirth.
With additional support available for essential expenses, she was able to focus more on maintaining her health and meeting the nutritional and healthcare requirements of her child.
For the family, the assistance provided under the scheme also made it easier to manage expenses related to the mother’s and child’s wellbeing.
Support Beyond Financial Assistance
For Jaishree, the benefit of the scheme was not limited to the financial assistance. She said that the period after childbirth requires particular attention to the health and nutrition of both the mother and the child.
According to her, the assistance provided by the government proved useful at a time when additional expenses related to nutrition, healthcare and childcare were necessary.
She expressed her gratitude to the government and district administration for providing the assistance under the scheme.
Objective of PM Matru Vandana Yojana
The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is aimed at providing maternity benefits to eligible pregnant and lactating women while promoting better health and nutritional outcomes for mothers and children.
