Prime Minister Narendra Modi tells graduating students that continuous learning, curiosity and courage to embrace challenges will be critical in a rapidly changing technological world.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged graduates of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi to keep their curiosity alive and continue learning throughout their lives, saying that rapid technological change will create both challenges and new opportunities.
Addressing the 57th Convocation of IIT Delhi, Modi said the world is changing at an unprecedented pace and that it is impossible to predict exactly what the next two or three decades will look like.
“Keep your curiosity alive in life. Keep your learning instinct alive. Those who learn, win,” the Prime Minister said.
Challenges Can Become Opportunities
Modi said individuals who remain open to new situations and challenges can transform difficulties into opportunities by developing innovative solutions.
He told the graduates that this ability to adapt and solve problems is among the key lessons they have gained at IIT Delhi.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the emergence of new sectors in India, saying these developments are creating fresh opportunities for the country’s young population.
Technology Driving Global Change
Referring to the changing global balance of power, Modi said the speed of technological advancement is one of the biggest forces reshaping the world.
He emphasized the importance of innovation and technological capabilities as India seeks to strengthen its position in emerging sectors.
The Prime Minister also referred to new artificial intelligence initiatives launched at IIT Delhi and extended his best wishes to the institute and its students for these efforts.
From Chips to Ships
Highlighting India’s progress in the semiconductor industry, Modi recalled that there had initially been doubts about whether India could establish domestic semiconductor manufacturing capabilities.
“But today, production has begun at the first semiconductor unit,” he said.
Expressing confidence in India’s manufacturing ambitions, Modi said the country would increasingly develop and manufacture products domestically, declaring that “from chips to ships, everything will be made here by your hands.”
More Than 3,000 Students Receive Degrees
More than 3,000 students were awarded degrees during the convocation, including 587 PhD scholars.
The Prime Minister’s message to the graduating students centered on continuous learning, curiosity, innovation and adaptability—qualities he said would help them navigate a world increasingly shaped by rapid technological and economic change.
