Bilaspur, June 17, 2026: In the lead-up to the International Day of Yoga 2026, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) organized a “Yoga at Workplace” program at its CMD Auditorium in the headquarters at Bilaspur on Wednesday. The initiative was conducted as part of the nationwide celebrations to encourage employees to embrace a healthy, balanced, and stress-free lifestyle through the regular practice of yoga, pranayama, and meditation.
The event was organized in line with this year’s International Day of Yoga theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” highlighting the importance of yoga in improving physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional resilience for people of all age groups.
The program was attended by SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Harish Duhan, Director (Human Resources) Biranchi Das, and Chief Vigilance Officer Himanshu Jain. Several department heads, senior officers, and employees from the headquarters also participated enthusiastically in the session.
The yoga session was conducted by Preet Pal Singh Gumbar, a Senior Yoga Instructor from The Art of Living. During the session, he demonstrated a variety of yoga postures (asanas), pranayama breathing techniques, and meditation practices that employees can easily integrate into their daily work routines.
Addressing the participants, the instructor emphasized that regular yoga practice not only enhances physical health but also helps reduce stress, improves focus and concentration, boosts productivity, and fosters a positive mindset in the workplace. He encouraged employees to make yoga an essential part of their everyday lives to achieve long-term health and overall well-being.
Employees actively participated in the session and pledged to incorporate daily yoga practice into their routines. The event aimed to strengthen the physical, mental, and emotional health of the workforce while promoting a culture of workplace wellness, fitness, and holistic well-being across the organization.
As part of the build-up to the International Day of Yoga, which will be observed on June 21, 2026, SECL is organizing a series of awareness campaigns, yoga sessions, and wellness activities across its headquarters, operational areas, and various units. These initiatives are designed to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga among employees and their family members while encouraging the adoption of a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
Through such initiatives, SECL continues to demonstrate its commitment to employee health, workplace wellness, and sustainable organizational development, reinforcing the importance of creating a healthier and more productive work environment.
