Bilaspur, India |South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga by organizing a grand mass yoga session under the banner of “SECL Yoga Mahotsav 2026” at Vasant Club, Vasant Vihar Colony, Bilaspur. Held in line with this year’s global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees, senior officials, and their family members, highlighting the company’s commitment to promoting health, wellness, and holistic well-being.
The event was graced by SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Shri Harish Duhan, First Lady of SECL and President of Shraddha Mahila Mandal Smt. Shashi Duhan, Director (HR) Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Finance) Shri Darla Sunil Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Himanshu Jain, and Director (Technical โ Projects & Planning) Shri Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra. They were joined by Vice Presidents of Shraddha Mahila Mandal Smt. Ipsita Das and Smt. Hasina Kumar, along with senior executives, employees, and their families.
The yoga session was conducted under the guidance of Brahma Kumari Gayatri Devi. Participants practiced a variety of yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques under the expert supervision of renowned instructors, including Shri Kamal Motwani (Art of Living), Dr. Kavita, Smt. Asha Soni (Patanjali Yoga Samiti), Shri Sunil Suryavanshi (Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission), and Shri Sanatan Das (Gayatri Pariwar).
A special highlight of the event was the live telecast of the National International Day of Yoga celebrations, where Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the nation from Kolkata, inspiring citizens to embrace yoga as a way of life.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Harish Duhan emphasized the transformative power of yoga, stating, “Yoga is the foundation of a healthy body, a calm mind, and a positive lifestyle. Regular practice of yoga strengthens us physically and mentally while improving our overall quality of life.” He encouraged employees and their family members to make yoga a daily habit for long-term physical and mental well-being.
At the conclusion of the programme, participants took a pledge to practice yoga regularly and committed themselves to leading healthier, more balanced lives. They also participated in a pledge for a drug-free society, reinforcing SECL’s commitment to building a healthier and more responsible community.
In addition to the main event in Bilaspur, similar yoga programmes were organized across SECL Headquarters, Area Offices, and operational units, where thousands of employees and their family members participated with great enthusiasm. The large-scale celebrations reflected SECL’s dedication to fostering employee wellness, healthy lifestyles, and social responsibility through the timeless practice of yoga.
