Officials, employees and union representatives take cleanliness pledge and commit to weekly shramdaan
Bilaspur, September 18, 2026: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) launched the “Swachhata Hi Seva” Campaign 2026 at its headquarters on Friday with a cleanliness pledge aimed at strengthening awareness and participation in cleanliness activities.
The launch programme was held at the Visitors’ Room of the Main Administrative Building at SECL headquarters.
On the occasion, Director (Human Resources) Biranchi Das, Director (Finance) D. Sunil Kumar, Director (Technical–Operations) Ramesh Chandra Mahapatra, and Director (Technical–Planning/Projects, Additional Charge) Nripendra Nath, along with various department heads, officers, employees and representatives of trade unions, were present.
During the programme, participants took a pledge to remain committed to cleanliness, contribute 100 hours of shramdaan every year—equivalent to two hours every week, keep their surroundings and workplaces clean, and make cleanliness an integral part of their daily lifestyle.
In accordance with the directions of the Government of India, SECL will organise various programmes and public awareness activities under the “Swachhata Hi Seva” Campaign 2026. The campaign will place particular emphasis on cleanliness, effective waste management and promoting clean and hygienic workplaces.
The SECL family also resolved to take the message of cleanliness to a wider section of society and make it an integral part of everyday life and workplace culture. The initiative aims to encourage active participation in building a cleaner and healthier society.
