SECL Inaugurates Model Anganwadi Centre in Bilaspur Under ₹4.72 Crore CSR Initiative


Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh |In a significant step toward strengthening early childhood education and improving community infrastructure, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has inaugurated a Model Anganwadi Centre at Lingiadih, Bilaspur as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

The inauguration marks a key milestone in SECL’s broader initiative to upgrade 200 Anganwadi Centres across Bilaspur district with a total investment of ₹4.72 crore, aimed at creating better learning environments for young children and supporting holistic child development in mining-affected communities.

Modern Facilities for Early Learning

The newly upgraded Model Anganwadi Centre has been designed to provide a safe, engaging, and child-friendly educational environment for preschool-aged children. The facility incorporates modern infrastructure and educational resources intended to strengthen foundational learning and improve overall developmental outcomes.

Key features of the upgraded centre include:

As part of the inauguration ceremony, children enrolled at the centre received books, pencils, drawing pads, sketchbooks, and other educational materials, encouraging creativity and learning from an early age.

The centre was inaugurated by Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL.

Addressing the gathering, Das emphasized that quality early childhood education plays a crucial role in shaping a child’s future and building a strong foundation for lifelong learning. He noted that improved infrastructure, modern learning tools, and a supportive educational environment would significantly enhance the developmental prospects of children in the region.

According to him, investments in early education not only benefit individual children but also contribute to the long-term social and economic development of communities.
