Bilaspur, India | South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) organized a heartfelt farewell ceremony for 10 retiring employees at its headquarters in Bilaspur on April 30, 2026, honoring their years of dedicated service to the company.
The retiring personnel were formally felicitated in the CMD chamber, where they were presented with traditional tokens of respect including shawls, coconuts, and floral garlands. They were also handed over their final settlement cheques as part of the retirement process.
The main ceremony took place at the administrative building’s conference hall under the chief patronage of Chairman-cum-Managing Director Harish Duhan. The event was attended by senior leadership including Director (Technical Operations) N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Human Resources) Biranchi Das, Chief Vigilance Officer Himanshu Jain, and Director (Technical – Planning & Projects) Ramesh Chandra Mahapatra, along with department heads, labor union representatives, officers, and staff.
The employees honored upon retirement included Chandramohan Verma (General Manager, Civil – CSR Department), S.K. Mahapatra (Chief Manager, Mining/HR), Sanjay Das (Manager, Survey – Planning & Projects), Shyam Borkar (Assistant Engineer, Town Administration), Purushottam Lal Sahu (Assistant Supervisor, E&T Department), V. Nagesh (Foreman In-Charge, Town Administration), Santosh Kumar Meshram (Assistant Supervisor, Town Administration), Dal Bahadur Gurung (Senior Duplicating Operator, CMD Secretariat), Baikunth Mahananda (General Assistant Grade-IV, Vasant Vihar Dispensary), and Bhola Prasad (Security Guard).
Addressing the gathering, CMD Harish Duhan and other senior officials praised the retirees for their invaluable contributions, professional dedication, and commitment to excellence. They emphasized that the company’s success has been built on the collective efforts and work ethic of such employees, whose contributions will always be remembered.
The leadership also extended their best wishes for the retirees’ future, expressing hope for a healthy, prosperous, and fulfilling life ahead for them and their families.
