Raigarh, Chhattisgarh | In a significant boost to the district’s policing strength, Raigarh Police has been allocated 18 Trainee Sub-Inspectors (SIs) under an order issued by the Police Headquarters, Chhattisgarh, Nava Raipur. The newly appointed trainee officers formally reported at the Police Lines, Raigarh, where they were introduced to senior district police officials.
Addressing the trainees, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shashi Mohan Singh highlighted the importance of practical field training in shaping competent and responsible police officers. He stated that while police academy training provides a strong foundation, field training is the most crucial phase of a police officerโs professional development.
According to the SSP, this period enables officers to gain firsthand experience in handling law and order situations, conducting criminal investigations, and understanding the nuances of community policing. He stressed that real-world exposure helps officers develop the skills and judgment required to serve effectively in challenging circumstances.
SSP Singh advised the trainee officers to work closely under the guidance of their senior officers and maintain the highest standards of discipline, dedication, and integrity. He emphasized that discipline is the cornerstone of policing and that the conduct of every officer reflects the reputation and credibility of the police department.
โPolice service is not merely a job; it is a responsibility toward society and the people,โ SSP Singh said while encouraging the trainees to remain sensitive and accountable to the needs of citizens. He further urged them to build strong communication with the public and adopt a fair, impartial, and responsible approach toward law enforcement.
During the orientation program, Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Soni and City Superintendent of Police Mayank Mishra also addressed the trainee officers. Both officials encouraged the recruits to make the most of their practical training period by learning from experienced officers and understanding the finer aspects of modern policing.
The senior officers also underscored the importance of maintaining high standards in criminal investigation procedures from the very beginning of their careers. They advised the trainees to focus on professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail while handling investigative responsibilities.
Following the orientation, SSP Shashi Mohan Singh issued temporary postings for all 18 Trainee Sub-Inspectors across various police stations and specialized units within the district. During their assignments, the officers will receive hands-on exposure to different aspects of police operations and administration.
In his concluding message, SSP Singh reiterated that the knowledge gained during training should be effectively applied in the field. He urged the trainees to perform their duties with honesty, discipline, professionalism, and compassion, while upholding the values of public service.
