President Murmu Invites Moldovan Businesses to Invest in India at India–Moldova Business Forum

CHIȘINĂU, Moldova | July 20, 2026President of India Droupadi Murmu highlighted India’s expanding economic potential and encouraged Moldovan companies to explore new opportunities for trade, investment, and business partnerships while addressing the India–Moldova Business Forum in Chișinău on Monday. The event was jointly attended by Moldovan President Maia Sandu, senior government officials, and leading business representatives from both nations.

During her inaugural address, President Murmu emphasized that India and Moldova have shared warm and friendly diplomatic relations since establishing formal ties in 1992. She said the bilateral partnership is founded on mutual respect, democratic values, peace, sustainable development, and international cooperation, creating a strong platform for expanding economic engagement.

The President stated that as India moves toward its ambitious vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” the country is seeking trusted global partnerships that promote shared prosperity and long-term economic growth. She highlighted that India remains one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world, powered by entrepreneurship, digital transformation, manufacturing excellence, innovation, and a young, highly skilled workforce.

Speaking about Moldova, President Murmu noted that the country has a reform-oriented economy, a strategic geographical location, highly skilled human capital, and increasing integration with European markets, making it an attractive destination for Indian investors and businesses.

She identified several sectors where the two countries can significantly expand cooperation, including Digital Technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, FinTech, Digital Public Infrastructure, Infrastructure Development, Renewable Energy, Advanced Manufacturing, Agriculture, Food Processing, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, and Healthcare.

The President also underlined India’s strong interest in participating in Moldova’s Renewable Energy projects, particularly in areas such as Solar Energy, Battery Energy Storage, Smart Grids, Green Hydrogen, and other Clean Energy Technologies, which she described as important pillars of sustainable development.

Reaffirming India’s commitment to international investors, President Murmu said the country continues to maintain a transparent, predictable, and investor-friendly business environment. She invited Moldovan businesses to take advantage of India’s expanding market and growing investment opportunities while encouraging Indian companies to explore new business prospects in Moldova.

She expressed confidence that the discussions held during the India–Moldova Business Forum would pave the way for new commercial partnerships, innovation-driven collaborations, and stronger economic cooperation between the two nations in the years ahead.

The forum brought together leading business leaders, entrepreneurs, and industry representatives from both countries, representing sectors such as Agriculture, Food Processing, Information Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, Renewable Energy, Education, Logistics, and Digital Technologies, reflecting the growing commitment of India and Moldova to deepen bilateral trade and investment ties.
