Not a Single Medical Seat Meant for Chhattisgarh Students Will Be Affected: Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal

NEET UG Counselling 2026: Admission to be cancelled if false information is provided; State Counselling Committee issues warning

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Health and Medical Education Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal has assured students and parents that the interests of students from the state will not be compromised during the NEET UG 2026 admission process.

The minister said that the expansion of medical colleges and MBBS seats in Chhattisgarh is aimed at providing more students from the state with opportunities to pursue medical education.

He said that any complaint or doubt related to domicile status would be thoroughly investigated. The counselling and verification system, he added, has been designed to remain transparent and robust.

“Students whose documents are genuine have nothing to worry about. However, any violation of rules or fraud will not be tolerated,” the minister said.

Jaiswal added that students across Chhattisgarh are working hard to secure medical seats and protecting their rights and future is the government’s responsibility. He said increasing the number of medical colleges and seats is an achievement, but ensuring that the benefits reach only eligible candidates is equally important.

State-Level NEET UG Counselling for 2026

The Chhattisgarh State Counselling Committee has issued important guidelines for NEET UG Admission 2026.

As in previous years, the counselling, merit preparation and seat-allocation process will be conducted online and transparently in accordance with the applicable rules.

The process includes registration, submission of preferences, seat allotment, verification of original documents and completion of admission formalities.

Domicile and Other Documents to Be Verified

Under Rule 7 of the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental and Physiotherapy Undergraduate Admission Rules, 2025, candidates participating in online counselling are required to undergo document verification.

During the eligibility verification process, authorities will examine the candidate’s domicile certificate, category or relevant certificate and other documents required under the rules.

After seat allotment, admission will be considered complete only after the candidate submits the required original documents and successfully completes the verification process.

Admission Can Be Cancelled for False Information

The counselling committee has also highlighted the provisions of Rule 12 of the admission regulations.

If a candidate obtains admission by providing false or incorrect information, concealing material facts, or if it is subsequently discovered that the admission was granted due to an error, the admission may be cancelled in accordance with the applicable rules.

Similarly, if any complaint or factual information regarding a candidate’s domicile or other documents comes to light, the matter will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken as per the rules.

Candidates Advised Not to Believe Rumours

The State Counselling Committee has appealed to candidates and parents not to rely on rumours, confusion or misleading information regarding the NEET UG counselling process.

Candidates with any doubt, problem or complaint can submit their grievances through the “Candidates Grievances and Query Redressal System” available through Candidate Login on the authorised counselling portal.

Candidates can also contact the counselling branch through the official email address cgdme.counseling@gmail.com.

Government Reaffirms Protection of Students’ Rights

Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal reiterated that the government is committed to ensuring that medical education opportunities created in Chhattisgarh benefit eligible students.

He said the verification mechanism would be followed strictly and that genuine candidates should not be concerned, while any attempt to misuse the admission process through forged or incorrect documents would invite action under the applicable rules.
