Security forces recover weapons, explosives, electronic equipment and other Maoist-related materials during a search operation in the Chintalnar area of Sukma.
Sukma: Security forces have recovered a suspected Maoist dump containing weapons, explosive-related materials, ammunition and electronic equipment during a search operation in the Chinnabodkel hill and forest area under Chintalnar police station limits in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district.
The recovery was made as part of the ongoing anti-Naxal operation aimed at locating weapons and explosive dumps allegedly concealed in forest and remote areas by Maoist cadres.
According to Sukma Police, acting on intelligence inputs received on September 5, a joint team comprising personnel from the 223rd Battalion of the CRPF and the district police force was deployed from Camp Raigudem for area domination and search operations in the Chinnabodkel forest and hilly terrain.
During the search, security personnel detected a suspected concealed dump. The surrounding area was subsequently searched thoroughly, leading to the recovery of a large quantity of material allegedly linked to Maoist activities.
Country-Made Gun, IED Containers and Wireless Sets Recovered
According to the police, the recovered material included one country-made gun, 57 pipes reportedly used for making BGLs, three IED containers and two wireless sets.
Security personnel also recovered electric detonators and other detonators, around one kilogram of gunpowder and approximately three kilograms of urea, along with various electronic and electrical items.
The dump reportedly contained a large number of batteries, electrical wires, chargers, radio sets, circuit boards and other electronic equipment.
Maoist Literature, Flag and Other Items Found
Apart from weapons and explosive-related materials, the security forces also recovered Maoist literature, a Maoist flag, uniforms, bows and arrows, iron spikes and other items of daily use from the concealed dump.
Police said the recovered material has been secured and taken into custody, and further action is being initiated as per established procedures.
Anti-Naxal Operations Continue in Remote Forest Areas
Officials said the search for weapons, explosives and other concealed Maoist dumps will continue as part of the ongoing anti-Naxal campaign.
Sukma Police said security forces are continuing operations in forested and difficult-to-access areas with the objective of strengthening peace, security and development in the region.
Authorities said such area-domination and search operations will continue in the coming days to prevent the use of concealed weapons and explosive materials by Maoist cadres.
