SAKTI / BAREKEL: A grand religious event was organised at Jaitpur, the sacred land of Jaitai Maa, situated on the holy banks of the Mahanadi River, on the auspicious occasion of the final Monday of the holy month of Sawan. The event witnessed a remarkable confluence of faith, devotion and community participation, with a large number of devotees arriving from the early morning to seek the blessings of Lord Mahadev.
The temple premises and surrounding area reverberated with chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bol Bam” as devotees gathered for the darshan and worship of the massive Shiva Lingam. The spiritual atmosphere remained vibrant throughout the programme, with devotees offering prayers and seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva.
Following the darshan and worship of Mahadev, members of the Dandiya Raas Garba Committee, along with a large number of women devotees, organised the distribution of kheer as prasad among the devotees. A considerable number of devotees stood in queues to receive the sacred prasad.
Women members played an important role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme. They actively assisted in maintaining arrangements and helped devotees have orderly darshan and access to prasad. Their participation reflected the spirit of social cooperation and collective devotion associated with the religious celebration.
Several committee members actively contributed to the successful organisation of the event. These included Rohini Sahu, Arpana Sahu, Smita Netam, Namita Soni, Varsha Sahu, Uma Bharti Sahu, Shivraj Khatkherji, Seema Sahu, Savita Khatkherji, Uma Sahu and Shakuntala Sahu, along with other members and volunteers.
Throughout the programme, devotees displayed immense enthusiasm and religious faith. Committee members remained engaged in managing the arrangements and ensuring that the darshan and prasad distribution were completed peacefully and systematically.
The celebration at Jaitpur on the final Monday of Sawan thus became a memorable occasion filled with devotion, spiritual fervour and community participation. The gathering not only provided devotees an opportunity to worship Lord Mahadev but also highlighted the importance of collective participation and social harmony in religious and cultural events.
