Hyderabad-based Avantel Ltd to develop, install and commission a Ground Segment Hub for voice and data communication
New Delhi: Hyderabad-based Avantel Limited has received a major contract from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, for the development, installation and commissioning of a Ground Segment Hub for voice and data communication.
According to the company, the contract was received on August 29, 2026, and has a total value of ₹117.88 crore, inclusive of applicable taxes.
Project to Support Voice and Data Communication
Under the contract, Avantel will undertake the development, installation and commissioning of the Ground Segment Hub. The project is aimed at strengthening ground-based infrastructure for voice and data communication.
The order has been classified as a development project, with the execution period extending until February 2029.
36-Month Warranty Period
The contract also includes a 36-month warranty period. Avantel will be responsible for delivering the contracted development and associated installation and commissioning activities within the stipulated timeline.
The order from DRDO further strengthens Avantel’s presence in India’s defence and strategic communication technology sector.
