Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur (MCB), Chhattisgarh | A wild bear entered a residential neighborhood in Ward No. 39 of the Chirmiri Municipal Corporation area in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur (MCB) district, triggering panic among residents after it attacked a man returning home on Monday evening.
The victim, identified as Vicky Paswan (35), sustained serious injuries in the attack and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Bear Attacks Resident Without Warning
According to local officials and eyewitnesses, Vicky Paswan was walking home when the wild bear suddenly emerged in the residential area. Before he could react, the animal attacked him, leaving him with severe injuries.
The victim reportedly cried out for help, alerting nearby residents who immediately rushed to the scene.
Residents Drive Bear Back into the Forest
Hearing the commotion, local residents gathered at the site. The noise and presence of a large crowd caused the bear to retreat into the nearby forest, preventing further injuries.
