New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its attack on the INDIA opposition alliance, claiming that growing internal dissent, leadership disputes, and political instability within several opposition parties are causing the coalition to weaken.
Speaking in an exclusive interaction, BJP National Spokesperson Prem Shukla alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is witnessing increasing dissatisfaction among its legislators and leaders, particularly in Punjab, where the BJP is working to strengthen its organizational presence.
According to Shukla, the INDIA alliance was formed primarily for the pursuit of political power rather than a shared vision or ideology. He argued that this lack of unity has led to growing divisions among its member parties.
AAP Facing Internal Discontent
Commenting on the political situation in Punjab, Shukla claimed that AAP is experiencing serious internal unrest. Referring to recently circulated videos involving the state’s Chief Minister, he suggested that the incidents reflect broader dissatisfaction within the party’s ranks.
He further stated that several former AAP leaders have already joined the BJP and hinted that additional leaders could switch sides in the coming months as dissatisfaction within AAP continues to grow.
Criticism of the INDIA Alliance
Shukla also questioned the current relevance of the INDIA alliance, arguing that several regional parties have distanced themselves from the coalition. He cited differences involving parties such as the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Shiv Sena (UBT), and other regional allies, claiming that the opposition bloc lacks cohesion and a common political agenda.
He asserted that the alliance is gradually losing its influence due to ongoing disagreements among its constituent parties.
BJP Confident Ahead of Parliament’s Monsoon Session
With the Monsoon Session of Parliament approaching, opposition parties are expected to coordinate their strategy against the central government on a range of political and governance issues.
However, Shukla dismissed concerns about a united opposition offensive, saying the BJP is fully prepared to respond to every issue raised during the session. He maintained that the opposition’s own internal divisions would prevent it from mounting an effective challenge.
Development and Governance at the Center of BJP’s Campaign
Highlighting the completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government, Shukla said the BJP remains focused on development, good governance, and public welfare. He claimed that the growing support for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) reflects public confidence in the government’s policies.
According to the BJP spokesperson, the challenges being faced by parties such as AAP, TMC, and Shiv Sena (UBT) are a result of their internal conflicts rather than any external political pressure.
Political Battle Expected to Intensify
Political observers believe that the upcoming Monsoon Session could witness sharp exchanges between the ruling BJP and opposition parties over issues including governance, law and order, economic policies, and regional political developments.
Despite expectations of aggressive opposition attacks, the BJP has expressed confidence that it will defend its record by emphasizing development, administrative reforms, and its governance achievements.
