Bengaluru — In a significant push toward strengthening India’s indigenous technology ecosystem, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has entered into a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Metamind Systems Private Limited and Kristellar Aerospace Private Limited. The agreement focuses on co-development and collaboration in advanced, future-ready technologies across both defence and civilian sectors.
The MoU was formally signed in Bengaluru, bringing together the strengths of a leading public sector defence enterprise and two emerging private technology players.
Focus Areas of Collaboration
Under the agreement, the three companies will jointly work on cutting-edge domains including:
- Cybersecurity
- Electronic Warfare and Avionics (EW&A)
- Semiconductor technologies
- Data center infrastructure
- Advanced aerospace and defence systems
These focus areas are expected to play a crucial role in shaping next-generation defence capabilities and digital infrastructure.
Leveraging Complementary Strengths
The collaboration is designed to combine:
- BEL’s large-scale manufacturing capabilities and established market reach
- Metamind’s expertise in AI-driven data analytics, digital transformation, and government project management
- Kristellar’s advanced research & development and systems engineering capabilities in aerospace and defence
By integrating these strengths, the partnership aims to improve execution efficiency, reduce project risks, and deliver scalable, high-impact technological solutions.
Driving ‘Make in India’ and Self-Reliance
A key objective of the MoU is to strengthen domestic capabilities in critical technology sectors, aligning with the Government of India’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives. The collaboration will focus on:
- Indigenous development and manufacturing of defence and aerospace systems
- Production of electronic modules and sub-systems
- Scaling semiconductor manufacturing
- Enhancing export potential of Indian-made integrated systems
This move is expected to boost India’s position as a global supplier of advanced defence and technology solutions.
