Frontline employees recognised for exemplary contribution; sanitation workers felicitated under Swachhata Hi Seva and Special Campaign 6.0
Bilaspur : South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) organised the second edition of the SECL Vishwakarma Awards at its headquarters in Bilaspur on Thursday to mark Vishwakarma Jayanti and the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A total of 75 workers who have made notable contributions to SECL’s mining and operational activities were felicitated during the programme.
The event was attended by Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL; Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra, Director (Technical/Operations); and Nripendra Nath, Director (Technical/Projects & Planning), Additional Charge, along with members of the Steering Committee, Welfare Board and Safety Committee.
Representatives of trade unions, CISTEA, OBC, SC/ST and other associations, Heads of Departments, and officers and employees from SECL’s operating areas were also present.
75 Regular and Contractual Workers Honoured
The second edition of the SECL Vishwakarma Awards recognised 75 regular and contractual employees for their exemplary contribution in operations, maintenance, supervisory responsibilities and other technical activities at the company’s mines.
The awards reflect SECL’s continued efforts to recognise the contribution of its frontline workforce and acknowledge the skills, dedication and commitment of employees working across its mining operations.
Speaking at the event, Biranchi Das, Director (HR), SECL, said that Lord Vishwakarma symbolises creation, skill and dedication to work.
He said workers engaged in the mining industry are making a significant contribution to the nation’s energy security through their skill, hard work and commitment.
Das added that felicitating workers on Vishwakarma Jayanti and the Prime Minister’s birthday was a gesture of respect and gratitude for their contribution.
Union Coal and Mines Minister’s Message Read Out
A message conveyed by Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy for coal workers was also read out during the programme.
The message highlighted the significant contribution of coal workers to the country’s energy security and development, while appreciating their hard work, dedication and role in nation-building.
Sanitation Workers Felicitated Under Special Campaign 6.0
As part of activities under Swachhata Hi Seva and Special Campaign 6.0, sanitation workers involved in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring clean and well-organised workplaces across SECL were also felicitated.
The initiative recognised their efforts and sought to encourage continued participation in workplace cleanliness.
During the programme, the importance of making cleanliness an integral part of daily work culture was emphasised, along with the need to maintain workplaces that are clean, safe and well-organised.
Under Special Campaign 6.0, SECL Headquarters and its operating areas are undertaking various activities focusing on cleanliness, disposal of pending matters, optimum utilisation of space, records management and effective management of e-waste, among other initiatives.
The Vishwakarma Jayanti programme conveyed a message of respect for work, recognition of skill, commitment to cleanliness and dedication to the nation’s energy security, while acknowledging the contribution of SECL’s workforce.
