Indira Vihar: The Women’s Welfare Society of SECL Indira Vihar organized a grand and inspiring event on March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Day, along with a Holi get-together. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from women and highlighted the importance of empowerment, health awareness, and community bonding.
The event was graced by Sheikh Zakir Hussain, Deputy General Manager of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), as the chief guest. In his motivating address, he encouraged women to move forward with confidence and emphasized the importance of empowerment and self-belief in achieving personal and professional growth.
The special guest, Dr. Arun Agrawal, a gynecologist, delivered an informative session on breast cancer and uterine cancer awareness. He advised women to maintain a healthy lifestyle, follow proper nutrition, undergo regular medical checkups, and stay vigilant about their health.
On the occasion, social workers Lata Gupta, Vinita Rao, and Sunita Manipuri shared their views on women’s empowerment. Meanwhile, Kriti Gangajali moved the audience with a self-composed poem celebrating the strength and spirit of women.
The event saw a large gathering of women who participated with great enthusiasm. The program was successfully conducted under the leadership of the society’s secretary Madhuri Tiwari, with significant support from joint secretary Rehana Khan and several other members.
In the second phase of the program, a vibrant Holi get-together was held. Participants Preeti, Ravi, and Rajni presented lively dance performances that entertained the audience. The celebration concluded with music, colors, laughter, and festive cheer, making the combined Women’s Day and Holi celebration a memorable and joyful occasion for everyone present. 🎉🌸🎨
