Jaipur: Rajasthan took a decisive step toward shaping India’s artificial intelligence future with the successful organization of the Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference, a key regional milestone leading up to the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The conference brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and global technology partners to chart a roadmap for inclusive, ethical, and innovation-driven AI adoption aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
One of the most significant announcements at the conference was the launch of a nationwide AI learning campaign, aimed at mobilizing lakhs of learners across the country to complete a short, self-paced Foundational AI (AI 101) course. The initiative seeks to create a collective national moment of AI learning, empowering students, professionals, and citizens with basic AI literacy and promoting democratic access to emerging technologies.
Rajasthan AI/ML Policy 2026 Launched
A major highlight of the event was the launch of the Rajasthan AI/ML Policy 2026, which outlines the state’s long-term strategy to strengthen AI-driven governance, accelerate economic growth, promote research and innovation, and generate high-value employment opportunities. The policy focuses on building robust digital infrastructure, encouraging responsible AI adoption, and positioning Rajasthan as a leading AI-enabled state.
Following the policy launch, the Rajasthan AI Portal was unveiled. The portal will act as a centralized digital platform for AI initiatives, datasets, research collaboration, startups, skilling programs, and policy-driven interventions across the state.
Focus on Skills, Startups, and Creative Technologies
To further strengthen Rajasthan’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, the government launched the iStart Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS is designed to support skill development, startup incubation, entrepreneurship, and innovation, particularly among youth and emerging entrepreneurs.
In another key initiative, the Rajasthan AVGC-XR Portal was launched to boost the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) ecosystem in the state. This portal aims to attract investment, nurture creative talent, and position Rajasthan as a hub for next-generation digital content creation. The event also featured the unveiling of an AI-themed video highlighting India’s and Rajasthan’s shared vision for AI-led development.
Strategic MoUs to Strengthen AI Ecosystem
Strengthening institutional collaboration was a major focus of the conference. Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with leading institutions and organizations, including Google, IIT Delhi, National Law University, Jodhpur, and the Skill Development Network (Wadhwani Foundation). These partnerships will work toward advancing AI research, large-scale skilling initiatives, development of ethical and legal AI frameworks, and the creation of a sustainable innovation ecosystem.
High-Level Strategic Dialogue on India’s AI Future
A high-level strategic session featured Shri Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), CEO of the IndiaAI Mission, and Director General, NIC, in conversation with Shri Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director – South Asia, NVIDIA. The session was moderated by Shri Sameer Jain, Managing Director, Primus Partners.
The discussion focused on India’s strategy to democratize AI infrastructure, strengthen public–private partnerships, enable innovation at population scale, and advance the creation of a global AI Safety Commons. Emphasis was also laid on building public-sector capacity for responsible, transparent, and trusted AI deployment.
IndiaAI Mission and Summit 2026 Vision
Smt. Kavita Bhatia, Scientist ‘G’ and Group Coordinator, MeitY, and Chief Operating Officer of the IndiaAI Mission, presented a comprehensive overview of the mission. She outlined its key pillars, national priorities, and the broader vision of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, which aims to position India as a global leader in AI for public good.
Academic Perspective and Thematic Sessions
The conference featured a special session titled “Perspective on Global AI, National AI, and Regional AI”, delivered by Shri Avinash Sharma, Professor at IIT Jodhpur. He highlighted the critical role that regional research institutions can play in developing globally relevant yet locally contextual AI solutions, addressing challenges unique to India and emerging economies.
In addition, multiple parallel thematic sessions explored AI’s real-world applications across governance, infrastructure, innovation, ethics, employment, and social impact. These sessions provided practical insights into how AI can transform public services, improve infrastructure planning, create new jobs, and ensure ethical and inclusive technological progress.

The Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference emerged as a significant step in building momentum toward the India AI Impact Summit 2026. It reaffirmed India’s commitment to harnessing artificial intelligence for public good, inclusive growth, and sustainable development, while positioning Rajasthan as a proactive and forward-looking contributor to the national AI ecosystem.
