Director (Domestic Division) Additional Charge Assigned to


New Delhi : The Ministry of Railways has approved the assignment of additional charge for the post of Director (Domestic Division) at (CONCOR) to , an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer currently serving as Executive Director (Finance & Marketing) at the Railway Board.

According to an official order issued by the Railway Board, the approval has been granted on an ex-post facto basis, validating the arrangement effective from March 1, 2026.

Additional Charge for Nine Months

Under the order, Shri Bajwa will continue to hold the additional responsibility for a period of nine months beginning March 1, 2026, or until a regular appointment is made, or until further instructions are issued by the competent authority โ€” whichever occurs earlier.

The assignment will be carried out alongside his existing responsibilities as Executive Director (Finance & Marketing) at the Railway Board.

Administrative Continuity at CONCOR

The move is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted leadership and operational continuity at CONCORโ€™s Domestic Division, which plays a critical role in Indiaโ€™s inland container transportation and domestic freight logistics network.

The Domestic Division oversees containerized cargo movement, multimodal logistics operations, inland freight handling, and supply chain services across various industrial and commercial corridors in the country.

Government departments and public sector enterprises frequently use additional charge arrangements in senior-level appointments to prevent administrative gaps while the process for appointing a regular incumbent is underway.

Ex-Post Facto Approval Explained

The Railway Board clarified that the approval was granted on an โ€œex-post factoโ€ basis, meaning the ministry has formally ratified and validated an arrangement that had already come into effect earlier.

In this case, Shri Bajwa has effectively been handling the additional responsibilities since March 2026, and the latest order provides formal administrative approval for the same.
