Kolkata, August : MSTC Limited has appointed Ms. Santosh (DIN: 09519383) as a Government Nominee Director on its Board of Directors, effective August 7, 2026.
She has been appointed pursuant to an order issued by the Board Level Appointment (BLA) Cell of the Ministry of Steel and will continue in the position until further orders.
Ms. Santosh replaces Ms. Sudershan Mendiratta, who ceased to be a Director of MSTC Limited with effect from August 6, 2026.
The MSTC Board formally approved Ms. Santosh’s appointment through a resolution passed by circulation on August 10, 2026.
About Ms. Santosh
Ms. Santosh is currently serving as Statistical Adviser in the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.
She is a member of the 1999 batch of the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) and holds an M.Sc. in Statistics.
With more than 25 years of experience in public administration, she has held several important positions in the Government of India.
Prior to her current role, she served as Deputy Director General in the Ministry of Coal.
Previous Board Experience
Ms. Santosh has also served on the Boards of several major public sector companies, including:
- Central Coalfields Limited (CCL)
- Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL)
- Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL)
Her experience across the steel and coal sectors, public administration and statistical services brings significant domain knowledge to her new role at MSTC.
No Conflict or Regulatory Disqualification
According to MSTC, Ms. Santosh is not related to any Director or Key Managerial Personnel of the company.
The company has also stated that she is not debarred from holding the office of Director by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other regulatory authority.
The appointment adds another senior government official with extensive experience in the mining, coal and steel sectors to the Board of MSTC Limited.
