Two Arrested in Kidnapping, Assault, and Vehicle Robbery Case in Bilaspur


Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh | The Sirgitti Police in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, have arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged kidnapping, assault, criminal intimidation, and vehicle robbery linked to a dispute in the local scrap metal business. Authorities also recovered the stolen Tata pickup truck allegedly taken during the incident.

According to police officials, the case originated from a business dispute involving scrap dealers. The accused allegedly forcibly confined the victim, assaulted him, threatened him with serious consequences, and unlawfully seized a Tata pickup vehicle.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Mohammad Firoz and Abdul Safeer. Police allege that the two, along with several accomplices, held the victim captive, physically assaulted him, and robbed the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

During the investigation, officers successfully recovered the stolen pickup truck from the suspects’ possession. Police teams are continuing efforts to locate and arrest the remaining absconding suspects involved in the case.

Accused Has Previous Criminal Record

According to police records, Abdul Safeer has previously been linked to serious criminal offenses, including attempted murder and violations under the Arms Act, for which he had reportedly served time in prison.

Authorities also stated that there have been allegations regarding his involvement in influencing activities within the local scrap trade and attempting to prevent other traders from operating in the area. However, these allegations remain unverified, and any determination regarding them will be subject to the judicial process.

Swift Police Action

Police officials said the arrests were made following immediate action taken after receiving the victim’s complaint. Acting under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajnesh Singh, the Sirgitti Police registered the case, launched a rapid operation, and apprehended the two accused.

Officials stated that the operation reflects the district police’s commitment to taking strict action against individuals involved in organized crime, extortion, violence, and intimidation.

Investigation Continues

Both arrested suspects have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody. Meanwhile, police teams continue to conduct raids in search of the remaining fugitives connected to the case.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have indicated that additional arrests may follow as further evidence is gathered.
