SRM Law School Launches Master of Public Policy Programme

SRM School of Law, part of the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), has officially launched a new Master of Public Policy (MPP) programme aimed at training future leaders in governance, public administration and policy research.

The formal inauguration took place on 8 January 2026 at the Law School’s Seminar Hall in the Kattankulathur campus. The launch event was attended by top university officials, faculty members, admitted students and distinguished guests from the policy and academic community.

Launch Ceremony & Vision

The chief guest for the inauguration was Mr. Alok Prasanna, Co-Founder of the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, New Delhi. He emphasized the pressing need for structured public policy education in today’s complex governance landscape and highlighted how the programme bridges academic learning with real-world public governance challenges.

In his remarks, Mr. Prasanna pointed out that public policy education is not just technical training, but an interdisciplinary field that welcomes students from diverse academic backgrounds and nurtures analytical thinking and administrative skills crucial for effective governance.

The programme’s vision aligns with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) — preparing well-rounded policy professionals capable of addressing complex societal issues at local, national, and global levels.
