IAF’s ‘Akash Ganga’ Skydiving Team to Showcase Precision Skills at Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav in Raipur

Raipur : The Indian Air Force’s prestigious skydiving display team ‘Akash Ganga’ will perform a thrilling precision parachuting demonstration in the skies over Raipur during the Chhattisgarh Statehood Day celebrations.

Led by Squadron Leader Aryan Kainthura, a team of eight highly trained Parachute Jump Instructors (PJIs) will jump from an AN-32 aircraft of the Paratroopers Training School (PTS), Agra, from an altitude of 8,000 feet. The display will highlight the skill, coordination and operational excellence of the Indian Air Force’s military parachuting specialists.

Formed on 10 August 1987 at Air Force Station Agra, Akash Ganga has a proud legacy spanning nearly four decades. Affiliated with the Paratroopers Training School in Agra, the team embodies the Indian Air Force’s spirit of adventure and commitment to excellence.

One of its notable achievements was the Canopy Relative Work Hand-Plane Formation performed during the 2019 Republic Day celebrations while carrying a 20 × 30 feet National Flag. Such displays demand exceptional proficiency in parachute handling, precise synchronisation and absolute trust among team members.

Every performance by Akash Ganga is the result of rigorous training and meticulous planning, reflecting the Indian Air Force’s core values of Mission, Integrity and Excellence.

The team’s participation in the Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav will give spectators a firsthand view of military skydiving skills. It is also expected to inspire young people to consider careers in the armed forces and further strengthen the bond between the Indian Air Force and the people of Chhattisgarh.
