₹99.58 Lakh Spent on Repair Work to Improve Rural Connectivity in Mungeli
Mungeli : Residents in parts of Mungeli district can now expect smoother travel after the completion of special repair work on the Sipahi-Gadaghat Road and Chamari Approach Road.
The work was carried out by the Public Works Department (PWD) following directions from Collector Amrit Vikas Topno, with the aim of improving road conditions and strengthening connectivity in rural areas.
According to the PWD Executive Engineer, repairs were completed on 560 metres of the Sipahi-Gadaghat Road and another 560 metres of the Chamari Approach Road. The total expenditure on the two works was ₹99.58 lakh.
The roads were in poor condition and had been causing inconvenience to people travelling between villages and nearby areas. The repair work was therefore taken up on priority and has now been completed.
The improved roads are expected to make daily travel easier for residents and provide better access to nearby villages, markets and essential services. Farmers and local residents are also likely to benefit from easier transportation of agricultural produce and other goods.
Better road connectivity is particularly important in rural areas, where roads provide access to schools, healthcare facilities, markets and government services. The repair of these two routes is expected to provide relief to local residents while supporting development activities in the surrounding areas.
The PWD had approved the work under the Special Repair provision after assessing the condition of the roads. The sanctioned work has been completed, with the department carrying out the required repairs while keeping road quality and usability in mind.
Local residents have expressed their gratitude to the Chhattisgarh Government’s Public Works Department Minister and the area MLA for the improvement in road connectivity.
