NTPC NRHQ Organises Gender Sensitisation and POSH Awareness Programme

Lucknow headquarters conducts awareness session to promote a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace

Lucknow : NTPC Northern Region Headquarters (NRHQ), Lucknow, organised a Gender Sensitisation and POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Awareness Programme for employees, with the objective of promoting a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace.

The programme was attended by S. N. Panigrahi, Executive Director (HR), Northern Region & Southern Region (NR & SR). The session was conducted by Veenu Kakkar, Associate Facilitator, Leading Teams, who has more than 25 years of experience working with organisations, including the United Nations.

Addressing the programme, Panigrahi described Kakkar’s participation as an opportunity for employees to gain insights into an important workplace issue. He expressed confidence that the session would provide useful learning and strengthen awareness among employees.

Key Areas Covered

The programme focused on key provisions and workplace practices associated with the POSH Act, 2013, including:

  • Prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace
  • Appropriate and respectful workplace conduct
  • Mechanisms for reporting concerns
  • The role and responsibilities of the Internal Committee (IC)

The session also included case studies and interactive group activities to help participants understand practical workplace situations. Employees were encouraged to raise questions and seek clarification on their responsibilities in maintaining a dignified, safe and harassment-free work environment.

The programme highlighted the importance of awareness, respectful conduct and effective grievance mechanisms in creating a workplace where employees can work with dignity and security.
