Workshop on Cashless Treatment Scheme 2025 for Road Accident Victims Held in Mungeli


Mungeli |Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel, IPS, a district-level workshop was organized in Mungeli to create awareness and ensure swift implementation of the Cashless Treatment Scheme 2025 for road accident victims, recently launched by the Government of India. The workshop focused on the integrated use of iRAD and eDAR digital platforms to provide immediate medical assistance to accident victims.

The workshop was led by Arvind Yadav, Technical Director (IT), NIC, and Saransh Sirke, SRM, Nava Raipur, who explained how digital applications such as iRAD, eDAR, and TMS can be used effectively to ensure rapid coordination between the police and health departments. They emphasized that timely digital reporting can help provide treatment during the critical golden hour, significantly reducing fatalities caused by road accidents.

Under the Cashless Treatment Scheme 2025, road accident victims are entitled to free medical treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh for a period of seven days following the accident. Hospitals must be informed within 24 hours of the accident, and the cost of treatment will be reimbursed through the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund, administered by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The objective of the workshop was to ensure seamless interdepartmental coordination under the Ayushman Bharat framework, enabling accident victims to receive immediate and cashless medical care without procedural delays.

The workshop was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Mayank Tiwari, District Transport Officer Aseem Mathur, CMHO Dr. Sheela Shaha, all Block Medical Officers of Mungeli district, Station and Outpost In-Charges, directors of private hospitals operating in the district, and investigating officers from the police department.

Officials reiterated that the effective implementation of this scheme would play a crucial role in reducing road accident fatalities and ensuring timely life-saving treatment for victims.
