Korba, India: Three serious and distressing incidents have been reported from different police jurisdictions in Korba district, sending shockwaves through the local community. Two minor schoolgirls died by suicide in separate cases, while a 25-year-old man was critically injured after inflicting a life-threatening injury on himself. Police have registered cases and launched investigations into all three incidents.
Two Schoolgirls Found Dead
In the first incident, reported from the Kotwali police station area on Indira Nagar Durpa Road, a 17-year-old Class 10 student was found dead. The girl, daughter of a mason, was studying at a private school and had reportedly been preparing for her examinations. Family members stated that she appeared normal and focused on her studies. The exact reason behind the extreme step remains unknown. Police have registered a case and are questioning family members.
The second incident occurred in the Urga police station area, in the village of Dhamanagudi Mouhar. A 16-year-old Class 9 student left her house stating that she was going to a nearby pond. When she did not return for a long time, her family began searching for her. Her body was later found near the pond. Police recovered the body and have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to her death.
Both incidents have left the families devastated, with relatives and neighbors struggling to cope with the sudden loss.
Young Man Critically Injured After Self-Attack
In a third case, reported from the Civil Lines police station area in the village of Benderkona, a 25-year-old man, son of a laborer, inflicted a severe injury on himself. He was rushed to Korba Medical College, where he remains in critical condition. The motive behind the act is still unclear, and police are continuing their inquiry.
Police Investigation Underway
Authorities have confirmed that cases have been registered in all three incidents. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether stress, personal issues, or other factors played a role.
