Raipur, Chhattisgarh:
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma on Saturday visited Ramakrishna Hospital in Raipur to inquire about the medical condition of woman constable Ms. Muchaki Durga, who was seriously injured in an IED blast in Sukma district on Thursday.

Shri Sharma met Constable Durga and spoke to the medical team treating her. He instructed the doctors to ensure the best possible medical care and treatment. Doctors informed the Deputy Chief Minister that Constable Durga is out of danger, but due to multiple severe injuries, her recovery will take time.

Constable Durga, a member of the District Police Force, was part of an area domination operation along with a joint team of DRG and District Force on the Gogunda hill in Sukma district. While moving toward the forested area, she accidentally stepped on a pressure IED planted by Naxalites, resulting in a powerful explosion. She suffered injuries to her leg, arm, eyes and face. After initial treatment, she was airlifted to Raipur for further medical care.

During the visit, Deputy Chief Minister Sharma encouraged Constable Durga and assured her family of full support from the government. He also spoke to her elder sister Ms. Muchaki Karuna, reassuring her that all necessary assistance will be provided.
