New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the India AI Impact Summit 2026 on Thursday at Bharat Mandapam, formally opening one of the world’s largest global forums focused on artificial intelligence.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi will take part in the opening ceremony beginning at approximately 9:40 a.m., followed by his keynote address around 10:25 a.m. The inaugural session is also expected to include addresses by Emmanuel Macron and Antonio Guterres, alongside senior leaders from global industry and the technology sector.
Ahead of the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi will welcome visiting world leaders at Bharat Mandapam, with an official family photograph scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Following the inauguration, he will visit the India AI Impact Expo at around 11 a.m., accompanied by international dignitaries. The exhibition will feature country pavilions showcasing advanced AI-driven innovations and emerging technologies from around the world.
At 12:00 noon, Modi will participate in the Leaders’ Plenary Session, bringing together heads of state, ministers, and senior representatives from multilateral organizations. Discussions will focus on AI governance, infrastructure development, and frameworks for international cooperation in artificial intelligence.
Later in the day, beginning at 5:30 p.m., the Prime Minister will attend a CEO Roundtable, involving top executives from leading global technology and industrial companies, as well as senior government officials. The dialogue is expected to center on investment opportunities, research collaborations, resilient supply chains, and the large-scale deployment of AI technologies across sectors.
The India AI Impact Summit 2026 aims to shape collaborative strategies to harness the transformative potential of artificial intelligence while promoting responsible governance, innovation, and cross-border partnerships. The event seeks to align global AI initiatives with India’s guiding principle of “AI for Humanity”, inspired by the civilizational ethos of Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya—welfare and happiness for all.
This is the fourth edition of the summit, following previous meetings held in the United Kingdom (2023), South Korea (2024), and France (2025). The platform enables global leaders to examine the ethical, economic, and social implications of artificial intelligence while strengthening cooperation across digital technology, trade, culture, tourism, and maritime domains.
