Durg, India |The Durg Police have arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly attacking his brother with a sharp-edged weapon and issuing death threats during a domestic dispute in the Supela area of Durg district.
According to police officials, the incident occurred on February 4, 2026, when the complainant, Kumar Das, visited his house in Kosa Nagar for cleaning purposes. During this time, his brother, Pranav Kumar Das, allegedly got into an argument over household matters, verbally abused him, and threatened to kill him.
Police stated that the accused allegedly attempted to carry out a fatal attack using a sharp weapon. When the victim tried to defend himself by grabbing the weapon, the accused reportedly assaulted him with a brick, causing injuries to the victim’s back and left elbow.
Following the complaint, Supela Police Station registered Case No. 202/2026 under Sections 296, 115(2), and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act. The sharp-edged weapon used in the attack was recovered from the accused’s possession.
During the investigation, police arrested Pranav Kumar Das, a resident near the Kosanala Cultural Hall in Supela. He was produced before the court, which granted police custody for further investigation.
The operation was led by Supela Police Station In-Charge Vijay Yadav, with active participation from Sub-Inspector Amardas Gangele, Head Constable Naveen Singh, and constables Durgesh Singh Rajput and Nagesh Rao.
Durg Police have appealed to the public to resolve personal disputes through lawful and peaceful means and urged citizens to promptly report any criminal activity. Authorities emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against those who disrupt law and order.
